Kahlua Infusion is coming!

You spoke and we are listening! We have had a couple questions come in regarding our Kahlua infusion coffee and when it will be available. Well say no more, we are infusing the beans as we type this! We should have our first small batch of Kahlua Colombian beans in about a week. be on the lookout for an update to the site on 6/12/20!

In the meantime, let us get into a little more about flavoring coffee. there are many methods. Some flavor the coffee pre-roast, some post-roast. Some also using flavoring in the grind of their coffee. A sprinkle of cocoa powder in your coffee will give it a little chocolate kick! At Café Clemente we choose the pre-roasting method for our Kahlua and Bourbon flavors. Unroasted, or green, coffee beans are fairly porous and will pick up flavors and aromas from their surroundings. By placing just a small amount of Kahlua in with the beans and sealing them in an airtight container, over the course of 10-14 days, they will pick up the Kahlua flavors. When they are roasted, these flavors are “baked” in while the alcohol is burned off. This leaves you with a Kahlua-flavored coffee. it is not overpowering but very mild. Add a little cream and you will get a touch of a mudslide flavor in your coffee, making for a great after dinner cup!

Thanks!
